Our self-talk can be so cruel. Often we don’t even notice it, as we have become so used to listening to it. It might be quiet, sly comments or negative suggestions, but it’s always chipping away at your self worth.

Someone you love

I used to say “if my mind was a friend, I would never hang around with it”.

I don’t think I’ve ever even come close to speaking to another person the same way I spoke to myself.

So harsh, judgemental, serious & constantly negative.

Our self-talk can be so cruel. Often we don’t even notice it, as we have become so used to listening to it.
It might be quiet, sly comments or negative suggestions, but it’s always chipping away at your self worth.

Once I had become aware of what I was doing, I watched (in horror), witnessing the ego mind in action. The more I observed, the more quiet the talk got. I didn’t replace the thought, I replaced the mindset. I chose again.

So what does that mean?

Instead of judgment, I would choose compassion. Instead of envy, I would praise. Instead of fear, I would choose love.

It took quite some time, but slowly, I began to choose differently. I began to feel differently. I then began to act differently.

The self-talk of the Ego mind never goes away, but you can turn down the volume and sometimes put it on mute. 💚🙌🏻
