What you Resist Persists

The more we resist looking at something – be that a feeling, thoughts, ideas about people or situations, the more feelings, thoughts and situations stick around and often intensify.

It can feel like being stuck in a constant loop.

So if you find yourself stuck in this moment, ask yourself this:
What might I be resisting looking at?

Don’t worry if nothing comes up immediately, it takes practice. If something does, just watch it gently, observe it, like you are watching it on a movie screen.

Then try this each time that particular feeling, emotion or situation arises over the coming days or week.

See if you notice the intensity of these feelings or thoughts rise or fall after you’ve begun this little practice.
